How to tell if you have a leak
Turn off every tap and appliance and check your water meter. If the numbers keep moving, water is going somewhere. Other signs are damp patches, mould, lifting floor coverings and a water bill that jumps for no reason.
Under Queensland rules, many households can apply to the local water retailer for a concession on bills caused by a concealed leak once it has been fixed by a plumber. Keep the plumber's report and invoice.
Fixing it properly
Once we find the leak we explain the repair. That might be a new section of pipe, a new fitting or, for old rusted galvanised pipe, a plan to replace it before it fails somewhere else.
How a leak job works with Brisbane Plumbing Pro
1. Tell us what you need
Call or send a message with your suburb and a short note about the problem. Photos or a short video help a lot.
2. We look and explain
We check the problem on site, find the cause and explain your options in plain English.
3. Clear quote, then the work
You get a clear quote before work starts. Once done we test everything, clean up and take old parts away.
Leak detection and repairs: common questions
Can a leaking toilet waste much water?
Yes. A cistern that runs into the bowl can waste a lot of water every day without any sign other than a higher bill. Put a few drops of food colouring in the cistern; if colour shows in the bowl without flushing, it is leaking.
